PRESCRIPTION REFILL POLICY
I ask all of my patients to NOT ENROLL in automatic pharmacy computer refill systems for my prescriptions. These automated systems are often inaccurate. IF YOU NEED A REFILL ON MEDICATION-- CALL ME OR EMAIL ME DIRECTLY. Please do not have your pharmacist call me to request refills. Please do not have the pharmacy computers fax me. CALLS AND FAXES FROM PHARMACIES WILL GO UNANSWERED. I only respond to requests for refills directly from patients. If you are enrolled with that auto-refill service with your other doctors, please cancel that service for medications prescribed by me.
Also, I ask my patients to please remember to request refills at least 5 days before you need them. I do not respond to refill requests on the weekends (since I don't necessary check voicemail or email on weekends) . I would not like to be reached by emergency cellphone on the weekend simply to have a medication refilled because it has run out on the weekend.
Thanks for understanding and working with me on this so that I can deploy my time more efficiently, since I don't have a secretary to help with refill requests.
